Shaw Park Primary School Staff and School Governing Body

by | Jun 3, 2016 |

Our Teachers are committed to:

  • Educating our learners according to the appropriate academic syllabus using methods which encourage lateral thinking and creativity;
  • Encouraging and fostering effective communication between parents and teachers to nurture the family spirit of Shaw Park Primary School;
  • Developing a positive self-image in our pupils through the loving guidance of a teacher;
  • Providing an education which meets the sensory, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of all our learners;
  • Fostering in our learners spiritual and moral values, respect for all people and awareness of ethical values and principles;
  • Developing in our pupils an awareness of the results of personal actions and behaviour;
  • To develop a concern for and caring attitude towards those less fortunate than ourselves and for our environment and the world.

We believe our learners should strive to:

  • Achieve to the best of their ability, both academically and on the sports field;
  • Grow emotionally and socially in our family environment;
  • Take responsibility for their work and sport commitments;
  • Exercise respect for all, no matter their age, gender or cultural differences;
  • Take full advantage of every opportunity afforded them at Shaw Park Primary School to develop into balanced, happy young adults;
  • Always present themselves neatly and confidently to promote the positive ethos of the school.

We believe our parents should strive to:

  • Actively work their child’s teacher(s) and the school in the education of their child;
  • Identify with the mission of Shaw Park Primary School and the teachers to create a positive parent-teacher relationship in the eyes of our pupils;
  • Keep an active interest in their child’s academic performance;
  • To develop a permanent routine for their child’s homework;
  • Advise the teacher of any problems which may affect the performance of their child at school;
  • Encourage their child to do his/her best and not to strive for unrealistic goals;
  • Praise their child for every effort he/she makes at school;
  • Attend meetings called by the Governing Body;
  • Take an active role in the school’s fundraising activities.
